Crested Quail-Dove and Selling
I'm selling this Crested Quail-Dove.
What I mean is, I'm selling the idea that this is a good photo of a Crested Quail-Dove.
Let's talk about selling.
As you traverse the myriad paths of life, you're often engaged in selling an idea, selling pleasure, selling dreams, selling a perception of yourself. To excel in this endeavor, you ensure that you are well-prepared. Your information is meticulously ordered, and your shop—be it a physical store, an intellectual concept, or an emotional conduit—is sparkling and attractive. You have skillfully orchestrated and manipulated others' perceptions of you, even convincing yourself that what you're selling is not just a quality product or idea but an embodiment of your true self.
But have you understood your motives? Have you realized that you may be as chained to your idea of yourself as you are to the perception you seek to control? And why do I say "chained"? If you truly believe in what you are selling, are you not free? It's not for me to say. Ask yourself. You might declare, "I go as I want, I do what I want, I think what I want, and no one binds me."
But is your independence and your ability to sell synonymous with freedom? To answer that, examine your motives. Are your motives clear to you? And if they are, does that clarity trouble you, or do you lock that knowledge away in a corner of your mind and throw away the key? And if you do that, are you truly free?
However, if you can say that you have delved into those dark depths of motive and cause rooted in your childhood, and still find yourself tranquil, not scrambling to emerge from that darkness, then you are free. And what you are selling is truly who you are.
So here I am, presenting a Crested Quail-Dove. Not just a photograph, but a reflection of a moment, an idea, a perception. Am I selling a good photo? Perhaps. Am I selling more than that? Undoubtedly. In this image, I offer a piece of myself, the intricate dance between perception and reality, the essence of who I am, and the freedom I have found within.
In the end, whether you see a bird, an artful capture, or a deeper narrative is up to you. For in the world of selling, it is not just the product or idea that matters, but the story and the soul behind it.
